Grooming offered Monday- Saturday
Appointments are Required- our groomers book up fast and are often booked out 3-4 weeks in advance.
Dog grooming- grooming generally involves; brushing, bathing, nail trim, ear cleaning, external anal gland expression, trimming fur to the desired style and length and blow drying. Dogs are usually dropped off by 9 in the morning and are set up in a kennel with a blanket and fresh water . They are also walked several times during their stay in our kennel yard. We have small kennels up front, and larger kennels in the back to accommodate different sizes. Please let the groomers know about any allergies or special medicated shampoo
Nail trims- may be accommodated same day, call to check for availability. The groomers also have the tools and experience to do nails trims with a nail dremel.
Puppy grooming- If you have a puppy that is of a breed that will require life-long grooming, it is highly recommended to start the process early so the dog can get as many early positive experiences with grooming as possible. Scheduling a young dog for every 6-8 weeks would be recommended.
Special needs dogs- Please let us know about any needs your dog has. Allergies? Medicated shampoo? Seizures? Orthopedic issues? At RVC we are all passionate about helping elderly, disabled or frightened dogs feel as comfortable as possible thru the grooming process. We have ramps, many different sizes and locations of kennels and 2 extremely caring and careful groomers who love helping them depending on their needs.
We never use sedatives or drugs on the pets for elective grooming. If this is necessary the office staff will set you up with a consult with a veterinarian so special accommodations can be made along with a doctor ahead of time.
Cats- Kelsey is available and experienced in grooming cats. This usually involves shaving out mats, brushing or whole shave downs. But as you can imagine, grooming cats depends heavily on the cat and how accommodating they want to be with allowing us by them with clippers. If a cat needs sedation to be groomed this will need to be addressed with a veterinarian. An appointment can be made with one of our veterinarians to make patient specific arrangements.
The groomers charge $50 an hour.
The average small dog is approximately $55-$65.
Uncomplicated large dogs like Labradors and Golden Retrievers cost approximately $50-$65.
Larger dogs that need a lot of undercoat removal or de-matting can cost up to $100 or more
It is difficult to give more specific estimates because every patient is different and has different needs at different visits

Grooming is not always easy, but there is nothing else like earning the trust and respect of the animals she works with. There are many other aspect of grooming she enjoys as well. Such as the relief she is able to give matted pets, or the fun she can have with her " regulars" who know the pampering and love is all for them. Kelsey believes she was born to be a groomer and wouldn't have it any other way.
