Since Ravenwood opened, our staff has been deeply involved with sled dogs and sled dog medicine. Dr Wagnon, Ravenwood Veterinary Clinic's founder, was the race veterinarian for the Fur Rendezvous Open World Championship Sled Dog Race held in Anchorage from 1985-2020. Since then Dr Merrigan has been following in her footsteps and has been the Official sprint Race Veterinarian since 2021. Dr. Wilson is responsible for the drug testing of racing sled dogs in the Open World Championship. Each year, our staff members donate their time to medical assessments of any sled dogs that need care on the Avenue.
